Our Story

It all started when Taz, our 15-year-old dog, began to struggle with his evening walks. As a senior dog, we noticed he was having a harder time seeing in the dark and his sensitive paws didn’t appreciate the sharpness of broken acorns and twigs. Wanting to help him reclaim his evening adventures, I took it upon myself to modify his harness equipped with a small flashlight. The difference was immediate. It made navigating those dimly lit sidewalks much easier for Taz. He was back to enjoying his outdoor adventures and getting his exercise!

Interestingly enough, everywhere we went we began receiving questions and compliments about Taz’s harness. I began to think this could aid other dogs as much as it has helped him. That’s when I was inspired to start Canidaze and produce more of these innovative harnesses. After countless design concept iterations, prototypes, and test trials, we finally developed something we’re excited to share with everyone. We handed out many of these harnesses to friends, neighbors, and family for feedback, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. We discovered that these harnesses can be a great help for all dogs and their owners, not just those with vision issues.

• Your dog essentially becomes a walking flashlight, freeing up your hands. Plus, the light can be easily detached with a quarter twist, transforming into a handy flashlight to help assist poop pickup in the dark.

• Your feet and your dog's paws can easily avoid stepping in unsanitary messes in the grass at night.
